Clinical Social Worker (Remote - US only)

Candidates must hold an active, unrestricted independent clinical social work license in the state where they practice. A value-based oncology care company that supports people with cancer and their caregivers is hiring a clinical social worker to provide psychosocial and emotional support through telephone, video, text and email. The team combines human-centered support with technology and data to help patients and their care networks get answers and access care. This is a fully remote role with a Tuesday to Saturday schedule, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time, reporting to the Director of Social Work.

What you'll do

• Complete psychosocial assessments and provide counseling for anxiety, depression, grief, adjustment, caregiver strain, financial stress, advance care planning and spiritual distress related to cancer diagnosis and treatment
• Respond to behavioral health crises and sudden changes in prognosis or end-of-life decisions with immediate support
• Connect patients and families with community resources for complex social and behavioral health needs
• Coordinate with oncologists, nurses, behavioral health providers and other specialists to remove social and emotional barriers to treatment
• Advocate for patients with insurers, providers and agencies to secure treatment and support services
• Lead support groups and peer-to-peer sessions and provide cancer-related education

What you need

• Master's degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
• Valid, active, unrestricted independent clinical social work license (such as LCSW or LISW) in your current state of practice, and willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed
• Three to five years of social work experience in a healthcare setting; oncology, palliative care, serious illness or hospice experience is strongly valued
• OSW-C or APHSW-C certification is preferred
• Comfort with video conferencing, Google Workspace, Slack and electronic health records, and willingness to learn new technology
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
