Sales Representative (Lagos)

This is an onsite sales role in Lagos for a commercially minded professional who enjoys starting conversations and building business relationships. The role covers the full sales journey, from finding suitable prospects and understanding their needs to closing deals. It suits someone who is proactive, persuasive and comfortable working towards targets, and who wants to help businesses adopt a software product that solves real problems. The organisation is a software business in the professional services sector.

What you'll do

• Identify businesses that fit the target market and generate qualified sales opportunities
• Hold conversations with prospects to understand how they operate and where their pain points lie
• Explain the value of a software product, recommend suitable solutions, handle objections and run demonstrations when needed
• Follow up consistently, maintain an accurate sales pipeline and move opportunities through to negotiation
• Convert qualified opportunities into paying customers and work towards agreed sales targets
• Spot opportunities for further sales where appropriate

What you need

• Experience in sales, business development, customer acquisition or a related role
• Strong prospecting, lead generation and qualification skills
• Ability to communicate the value of software to businesses
• Strong negotiation, persuasion and closing skills
• Good understanding of customer needs and buying behaviour
• Self-motivated, comfortable working towards sales targets and taking initiative
