Transportation & Logistics AI Automation Engineer

This is a remote role with a diversified group whose core business is transportation and cross-border logistics, alongside commercial and multifamily real estate. The group is bringing AI and automation into its operations to cut manual work, connect data across systems and improve visibility. The role suits a hands-on engineer who can understand day-to-day operational challenges, turn them into practical technical solutions, and decide when a low-code automation platform is enough and when custom code is the better choice. It is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with business teams as well as with code.

What you'll do

• Design, build and deploy AI-powered automations that reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency
• Connect business systems through APIs, webhooks, databases and workflow automation platforms
• Automate recurring reporting and data consolidation across business units
• Monitor and improve the reliability and scalability of existing automations
• Work with business leaders to identify processes that would benefit from automation or AI
• Help employees adopt AI tools and document automations and workflows

What you need

• 3+ years of professional experience in software development, systems integration or automation engineering
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying AI-powered automations in real business environments
• 5 years of experience working with transportation and logistics systems
• Hands-on proficiency with Python and/or JavaScript
• Strong experience with APIs, webhooks, databases and system integrations
• Experience building workflows with n8n, Make, Zapier or similar platforms
