Backend Developer

A remote role for an experienced Python backend developer at a computer vision and AI tooling organisation that supports a well-known open-source community. The work centres on building reliable services and interfaces that power data annotation and vision workflows. What you'll do

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs
• Translate product requirements into clean, scalable code with cross-functional teams
• Optimise backend systems for performance, reliability and scalability
• Integrate machine learning and computer vision models into the platform
• Apply security and compliance best practices
• Carry out code reviews, testing and debugging

What you need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Python 3 and Django or similar frameworks
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices and containerised deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases and Git
• Intermediate or higher English and strong communication skills for remote work
