Cost Segregation Project Engineer (Remote - Latin America)

A remote talent staffing company that places engineers and designers from Latin America with clients around the world is recruiting a Cost Segregation Project Engineer. You would work remotely as part of a client's tax consulting team, preparing engineering-based cost studies that break down building assets for tax purposes. The role suits someone who pairs technical precision with clear communication and relationship-building.

What you'll do

• Prepare detailed cost segregation reports, including preliminary research, file review, and confirming engagement agreements
• Carry out site visits, documenting building assets and common areas
• Record building assets in spreadsheets, write property descriptions, and produce complete reports in Word
• Review reports with management for accuracy and communicate with clients and the sales team, resolving issues promptly
• Collect property data, perform on-site reviews, and work through multi-step assessments

What you need

• Four-year engineering or other technical degree
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Fluent English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read architectural and engineering construction plans and specifications
• Able to classify building utility system components by how they are used, and estimate costs using industry-standard sources
• Based in Latin America and able to work remotely; prior cost segregation, tax consulting or similar technical experience is a plus
