Medical Doctor (Imo State)

This is an onsite clinical role in Imo State with a non-governmental organisation that provides healthcare services to its community. The doctor will lead patient care, from diagnosis and treatment through to health education and follow-up, and will work alongside a wider healthcare team. The role suits an experienced, compassionate medical doctor who is comfortable working independently, values patient confidentiality, and is committed to high standards of medical safety and ethics.

What you'll do

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients' medical conditions
• Interpret test results, prescribe medication and monitor treatment progress
• Provide health education, preventive care and follow-up services
• Recognise medical emergencies and arrange appropriate care or referrals
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
• Collaborate with the healthcare team while upholding medical safety, ethics and regulatory standards

What you need

• MBBS or an equivalent recognised medical qualification
• Current MDCN registration and a valid practising licence; completed NYSC
• Residency or recognised postgraduate training in Family Medicine, Family Practice or Internal Medicine
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant clinical experience, including ECG/EKG interpretation
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and patient-management skills, with professionalism, integrity and compassion
