Senior Data Engineer (Remote - Latin America)

This is a remote contract role placed through a talent services firm that connects Latin American developers and designers with companies abroad. The successful candidate will be placed with a client company and work day to day on its data platform. The role combines hands-on engineering with data modeling and reporting, and it suits someone who enjoys both building pipelines and communicating with business and IT stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Design, build and maintain data pipelines and analytics solutions on Databricks
• Write and tune SQL (including Spark SQL) and Python for data processing and analysis
• Work alongside developers and IT teams to deliver data analytics projects
• Apply DevOps practices and CI/CD methods to data workflows
• Build and support Power BI reports and dashboards
• Contribute to data modeling, data management and data governance standards

What you need

• At least 5 years of experience as a data analyst, data engineer or similar role
• Background in software development and data-related IT projects
• Practical programming skills in SQL and Python, and experience working with developers
• Extensive hands-on experience with Databricks and advanced user-level experience with cloud platforms
• Working knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD, plus experience with Power BI and solid understanding of data modeling and governance
• Fluent, business-level English and residence in Latin America
