Senior Engineering Manager, Web Platform (Remote - US only)

A fast-growing US healthcare technology company that builds software for independent therapists and their patients is hiring a senior engineering manager for its frontend platform team. The team sets the standards, design system, and web architecture that every internal web application relies on. This is a people-leadership role with hands-on involvement in the code, and it is the only role of its kind at the company.

What you'll do

• Lead a small team of five senior frontend engineers, hiring, growing, and managing performance on purpose
• Set the technical vision and roadmap for the company's frontend, working with design and engineering foundations leaders
• Own the design system jointly with design leadership and shorten the path from design to production code
• Define standards for accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), performance, testing, and maintainability across web apps
• Lead efforts to give AI coding agents the docs, guardrails, and automated checks needed to produce reliable UI
• Balance planned work, support requests, and new bets, and make the case for team headcount with clear metrics

What you need

• Former senior or staff frontend engineer with deep experience in React and the modern web
• Several years of people management, including hiring senior engineers and handling underperformance
• Experience leading a frontend platform, design system, or web architecture team, ideally at a fast-growing company
• Regular use of AI tools for writing code, with a clear view on how agents should build UI
• Strong partnership with designers and experience aligning several product teams around a shared roadmap
• Authorization to work in the United States
