Senior QA Engineer (Remote - US only)

A established healthcare technology company that provides clinical communication and physician scheduling software to hospitals, health systems and medical practices is hiring a Senior QA Engineer. The team currently tests entirely by hand, so this person will build test automation from the ground up and, over time, become the lead owner of quality for the product. The role suits an experienced tester who can work independently and also mentor others. The product is held to HIPAA-level standards because it supports patient care.

What you'll do

• Own quality for complex features end to end, from reviewing designs through release readiness
• Build test automation frameworks, UI/end-to-end suites and API tests, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines
• Write and maintain test plans, test strategy documents and coverage for healthcare workflows, including HIPAA test coverage
• Run performance and security testing and define quality metrics for leadership
• Document defects clearly, report defect status and present test results and quality risks to stakeholders
• Mentor junior QA engineers and partner closely with developers and product teams

What you need

• 5+ years of professional QA engineering experience, including ownership of complex work end to end
• Hands-on experience with manual test execution and clear defect documentation
• Strong Python skills for test automation, plus experience with Playwright, Selenium or Cypress
• Experience with API testing and CI/CD integration, and with building test frameworks from scratch
• Solid grasp of QA methodologies and quality metrics, with strong written and verbal communication
• Must be authorized to work and live in the United States
