Technical Writer

This is a full-time, fully remote role with a team building open-source computer vision tools used by a wide community. The organisation is remote-first and values open collaboration, practical developer experience and new ways of working with AI. The role suits an experienced technical writer who enjoys documenting APIs, SDKs and command-line tools, writing code examples that actually run, and working closely with engineers and community members to make developer products easier to adopt.

What you'll do

• Maintain and improve user and developer guides, API and SDK references, and release notes
• Keep API documentation, CLI guides and Python SDK references accurate, with runnable examples
• Review API, SDK and CLI usability with engineers and suggest improvements
• Measure documentation performance to find gaps and prioritise fixes
• Triage documentation issues and publish tutorials with the open-source community
• Help integrate and support an AI chatbot as a documentation interface

What you need

• A strong portfolio of SDK, CLI or API documentation for developer products
• Hands-on experience with OpenAPI or Swagger, Postman and cURL, including auth flows, pagination and webhooks
• Comfortable reading and writing Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, and Bash
• Experience with docs-as-code workflows, Git and CI checks, and tools such as Sphinx, Hugo or Read the Docs
• Initiative in using AI tools to improve documentation quality and speed
• A degree in IT or equivalent experience, and proficiency in English
