Technical Writer & Instructional Designer

A remote contract role creating technical workshops, developer documentation and hands-on learning materials focused on AI systems. The work centres on large language models, APIs and vector databases, turning complex tools and training content into clear, practical resources for developers. It suits an experienced technical writer or developer educator who enjoys curriculum design, is comfortable with fast-changing technology, and can work independently while collaborating closely with engineering and product colleagues.

What you'll do

• Design and develop hands-on workshops on LLMs, AI developer tools, APIs and vector databases
• Own curriculum development, including learning objectives, structure and instructional materials
• Write and maintain API, SDK and developer tooling documentation
• Create lab guides, code walkthroughs, presentations and instructor resources
• Review existing content to identify gaps and improve clarity and consistency
• Work with engineering, product and research teams to validate accuracy and test exercises

What you need

• 3+ years in technical writing, instructional design or developer education
• Hands-on experience creating technical workshops and developer training materials
• Solid understanding of LLMs, generative AI, prompting, APIs and vector databases
• Ability to read and explain code in Python, TypeScript or similar
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub, Markdown/MDX and version control
• Portfolio of technical writing or instructional work
