A large global online community platform is expanding its international growth team and is looking for a community manager to build and grow its presence in the Dutch market. The role sits within the company's international community team and works closely with product, engineering, marketing, safety and business development colleagues. The position suits someone who understands Dutch online culture deeply and enjoys turning volunteer communities into thriving local spaces.
What you'll do
- Study the Dutch market to spot user and volunteer moderator challenges as well as growth opportunities.
- Develop and scale an international growth playbook by proposing new programs and persuading internal teams to adopt them.
- Build plans to recruit, educate and grow a local group of volunteer moderators, including a funnel that turns power users and creators into active moderators.
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data, set KPIs and run community initiatives based on what the data shows.
- Share clear insights with internal stakeholders to improve the market approach.
- Collaborate across product, engineering, marketing, safety and business development teams.
What you need
- At least 5 years of experience in community development, project management, growth, operations or product consulting, with community-led projects that delivered measurable business results.
- Deep knowledge of Dutch culture, current affairs, customs, topics of interest and sensitivities, plus strong awareness of Dutch internet culture.
- Fluent in both Dutch and English, with clear and persuasive written and spoken communication.
- Based in the Netherlands and eligible to work there on a contract basis.
- Strong attention to detail, a results-driven approach and enjoyment of testing hypotheses and improving processes.
