Consultant in Pain Management (Remote, United Kingdom)

A large UK telehealth clinic specialising in cannabis-based medicines is recruiting consultants in pain management to join its clinical team. You will assess patients who have not found enough relief from conventional treatments and decide whether a cannabis-based medicine is appropriate for them. The clinic uses a multidisciplinary model in which nurses and pharmacists handle pre-consultation and follow-up prescribing tasks, so you can focus on clinical decisions and patient care. Prior experience with cannabis-based medicines is not required.

What you'll do

• Assess patients referred for medical cannabis treatment and make the clinical decision on whether it is appropriate
• Manage ongoing care for patients through scheduled consultations
• Collect clinical outcome data to support evidence-based practice
• Contribute to clinical governance and patient safety standards
• Work with nurses and pharmacists within the multidisciplinary team
• Complete the clinic's specialist training in cannabis-based medicines

What you need

• Full GMC registration
• Completion of specialist training (CCST/CCT) or equivalent certification
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Pain
• Sound clinical judgement and an open-minded interest in alternative therapies
• Willingness to take part in data collection and reporting
