Finance Officer

A full-time, onsite finance role in Lagos with an environmental consulting organisation, advertised through a recruitment partner. The position suits an experienced, detail-oriented accounts professional who enjoys keeping financial records accurate, building sound controls and making day-to-day finance operations run smoothly. The role combines hands-on bookkeeping and reconciliations with reporting, budget monitoring and improving existing processes. Candidates with three to six years of finance or accounting experience and a practical grasp of Nigerian tax and statutory obligations will feel most at home.

What you'll do

• Manage daily financial transactions, bookkeeping, payment processing and documentation
• Reconcile bank statements, cash, vendor accounts and other financial records
• Review staff expenses, claims, retirements and supporting receipts
• Establish financial procedures, reporting templates and internal controls
• Monitor budgets, cash flow and project-related costs
• Prepare periodic financial reports, management accounts and expense summaries

What you need

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• 3–6 years of relevant finance, accounting or financial operations experience
• Practical knowledge of QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Excel or similar tools
• Experience in bank reconciliation, bookkeeping, financial reporting and payment processing
• Understanding of internal controls, Nigerian tax obligations and statutory compliance
• Strong analytical, organisational and attention to detail
