Internal Control and Risk Management Specialist

This full-time role is for an analytical professional who enjoys designing strong controls and managing business risks. It sits within a growing travel organisation in Lagos, where the focus is on protecting assets, keeping operations compliant and building a culture of good governance across travel and business activities. The post suits someone with a finance, accounting or audit background who is methodical, discreet and comfortable working closely with management. Prior experience in the travel or aviation sector is an advantage but not essential.

What you'll do

• Evaluate and strengthen internal control systems across travel and business operations
• Identify, measure and manage operational, credit, financial and compliance risks
• Carry out spot checks, fraud risk assessments and compliance reviews to safeguard company assets
• Ensure adherence to company SOPs, regulatory guidelines and industry standards
• Work with management to promote a culture of governance and risk awareness

What you need

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
• At least 4 years' experience in internal control, risk management or audit
• Travel or aviation industry experience preferred
• Recognised professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CIA or equivalent
• Sound knowledge of financial processes, risk mitigation and industry compliance
• Strong integrity, investigative skills and excellent communication
