Junior Underwriter

This hybrid role in Lagos is for a junior underwriter who will assess credit risk, mainly for small and medium-sized business clients. It suits a detail-minded finance professional who has some experience in credit work within banking or financial services and who enjoys reviewing financial statements to reach sound lending decisions. The post is open to people who are self-motivated, results-driven and comfortable working with standard office software. The organisation is a financial services business based in Lagos.

What you need

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field
• 1 to 2 years of credit underwriting experience in banking or financial services, with a focus on SME clients
• Ability to analyse financial statements and assess credit risk
• Proactive, self-motivated and results-oriented mindset
• Proficiency in the MS Office Suite
