Mechanical Sales Engineer

This is a full-time sales role for a mechanical engineer who enjoys combining technical know-how with client relationships. Based in Lagos and covering projects across Nigeria, the position centres on mechanical products and building solutions such as pumps, ventilation fans and cable management systems. It suits someone who can read specifications and drawings, prepare sound quotations, and follow opportunities from first contact through to order and delivery. The organisation is an industrial equipment supplier serving factories, contractors and developers, and it values steady travel, careful reporting and long-term customer relationships.

What you'll do

• Visit clients, contractors and consultants to find new projects and sales opportunities
• Recommend suitable mechanical products and prepare technical and commercial quotations
• Negotiate terms and follow quotations through to order confirmation
• Coordinate with technical, procurement, logistics and finance teams to support order delivery
• Provide support during installation, testing and commissioning when needed
• Keep accurate customer records and submit sales reports and forecasts

What you need

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of mechanical products, systems and installation requirements
• Proven sales experience in Nigeria's industrial, commercial or construction market
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills
• Willingness to travel regularly; valid driver's licence is an advantage
