Product Designer, Fractional (Remote - DACH region, Germany)

An early-stage B2B software startup is looking for its first product designer on a fractional basis. You will shape the look and feel of the core desktop product and set the design standards the team will build against as it grows. The role suits someone who is comfortable making product decisions with incomplete information and refining them through user feedback.

What you'll do

• Own the visual and interaction design across the main desktop product experiences.
• Build design systems, component standards, and documentation for the team to use.
• Make product and design decisions with limited data, then iterate based on user feedback.
• Work closely with product and engineering to implement designs and resolve technical constraints.
• Plan and run user research, usability tests, and other feedback sessions.
• Produce high-fidelity mockups and prototypes and support a clean design-to-code handoff.

What you need

• At least 3 years of product design experience shipping consumer or B2B products end to end.
• A portfolio showing shipped desktop B2B or SaaS products with clear problem-solving and outcomes.
• Hands-on experience creating design systems, standards, and documentation for product teams.
• Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Working knowledge of frontend implementation (HTML/CSS) and experience collaborating with engineers.
• Residence in or ability to work from the DACH region is required.
