Set and Production Design Expert

This is a fully remote, contract-based role for an experienced set or production design professional who can review and judge design work from anywhere in the world. The work centres on assessing set designs, room layouts and production concepts against a script, brief or budget, and explaining clearly why one option is stronger than another. It suits production designers, set designers, art directors and set decorators who have worked on real films, TV, theatre, events, commercials or photo shoots, and who enjoy putting their expertise into careful written feedback.

What you'll do

• Review set designs, room setups and production concepts against a given script, brief or budget
• Judge scale, layout, sightlines, colour, materials and how the space works for actors and camera
• Flag practical problems that would appear on shoot or install day, such as shot fit, materials that look artificial on camera, or props wrong for the period
• Check that a design suits the story, setting and budget
• Write short, clear explanations for each decision so a reviewer can follow the reasoning
