QA Engineer

An entry-level quality assurance role based in Lagos, Nigeria, with a hybrid work arrangement. It sits within a technology team building an insurance management platform, where testing APIs and user workflows helps ensure the product is reliable before release. The role suits early-career testers, recent graduates or self-taught engineers who enjoy finding defects, writing clear bug reports and learning automation alongside experienced engineers. Practical testing experience from coursework or personal projects is welcome.

What you'll do

• Create test cases and test REST APIs using Postman or similar tools
• Conduct manual, exploratory, cross-browser and responsive testing of user workflows
• Document defects with clear reproduction steps, expected results and evidence
• Verify fixes, carry out regression testing and escalate quality risks
• Develop and maintain basic API and UI automated tests
• Track test coverage and report outstanding defects to support release decisions

What you need

• QA internship, coursework, personal projects or equivalent practical testing experience
• Understanding of test cases, regression testing, exploratory testing and defect management
• Basic scripting skills in Python, TypeScript or Java
• Basic knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON and tools such as Postman
• Clear documentation, communication, attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Familiarity with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Git, CI/CD, OpenAPI/Swagger or SQL is an advantage
