Senior Data Engineer - Databricks (Remote - Latin America)

A remote-first data products and machine learning consultancy is hiring a senior data engineer for an engagement with a large multinational consumer company headquartered in Mexico City. The work centers on building scalable data infrastructure and ML-supporting pipelines for demand planning and forecasting. You will work largely on Databricks with Python and Spark, and help domain teams take ownership of their data products.

What you'll do

• Co-develop batch and streaming pipelines, semantic models and transformations on Databricks using Python and Spark.
• Define and maintain data contracts, data quality rules and service-level objectives for each data product.
• Advise domain teams on data modeling and on where the boundaries of each data product should sit.
• Mentor and pair with domain engineers and analysts on data product ownership and sound engineering practices.
• Turn feedback from domain teams into improvements to shared platform templates, tooling and patterns.

What you need

• Solid experience in data engineering, including building and optimizing data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Python and Spark for both batch and streaming workloads.
• Familiarity with a BI visualization tool such as Looker or Tableau.
• Based in Latin America, as the role is open only to candidates located there.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in English with distributed teams.
• Feature Store certification and experience with financial data.
• Experience building AI agents or agentic infrastructure (for example agent frameworks, orchestration or MCP).
