Senior Design Engineer (Remote - Select European Countries and Israel)

This is a senior individual contributor position in product design at a large, fast-growing global software company with around 7,000 staff. You will split your time roughly equally between Figma and a code editor, building the design system, component architecture and AI generation workflows that the company's design teams rely on. You will sit in a cross-functional team with Engineering and Product and work directly with design leadership to roll out the workflow across the whole design organisation.

What you'll do

• Architect the design system, design tokens and component library that AI tools generate interfaces against.
• Design prompt libraries, patterns and agent workflows that turn design intent into production-ready UI.
• Prototype real interfaces in production front-end code and use them to test the system's output.
• Define production-readiness criteria, design-to-code fidelity benchmarks and regression checks for AI-generated UI.
• Help prototype and evaluate adaptive, AI-generated interfaces within the product, and advise on where they fit the roadmap.
• Turn working practices into playbooks and enablement materials so the wider design team does not depend on one person.

What you need

• 7+ years in product design and front-end engineering on complex products.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React, with HTML, CSS and animation skills.
• Experience building or extending design systems that other teams rely on.
• Real taste for layout, typography, interaction and motion, with a focus on polish.
• Hands-on experience using AI design and coding tools in day-to-day work.
• Must be based in one of the listed countries and able to work from there.

Applicants must be based in: United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Ireland, Italy, Belgium, Israel.
