Senior Manager, Product Design

A player/coach design leadership role for an experienced product designer who wants to shape how a growing software company designs data, analytics and AI-driven products. The company is a profitable, bootstrapped business with a small product team and a strong focus on agility, autonomy and customer trust. The role suits someone who enjoys hands-on design as well as building a design function, systems and practices from the ground up, and who is excited by making dense data clear, engaging and actionable. The position is remote, US-based, and runs on a four-day working week.

What you'll do

• Carry hands-on design work across product pods as a shared senior design resource
• Set the design standard for data, dashboards, reporting and AI-generated insights
• Coach and develop a product designer and grow the design team
• Partner with product managers on strategy, roadmaps and customer experience
• Lead customer research and discovery practice and synthesis of feedback
• Establish design principles, design system, design operations and career framework

What you need

• 6+ years of product design experience, including 2+ years managing or mentoring designers
• Proven track record designing data, analytics or intelligence products customers find engaging and trustworthy
• Comfortable spending most of the time doing hands-on design
• Experience building design foundations such as principles, design systems and processes from scratch
• Strong stakeholder partnership and communication skills
• Enthusiasm for using AI tools to work faster and more effectively
