Senior HR Specialist – Payroll

A full-time onsite payroll role in Lagos with a fast-moving consumer goods business. The post centres on owning the complete payroll cycle, from joiners and leavers through to final settlements, while keeping pay accurate, on time and compliant with Nigerian tax, pension and statutory rules. It suits an experienced payroll professional who enjoys process discipline, reconciliation and working closely with Finance and management. Strong Excel skills and comfort with payroll and HR systems are important.

What you'll do

• Manage the full payroll cycle, including joiners, leavers, salary changes, allowances, deductions, leave payments, bonuses and final settlements
• Process payroll in the payroll system, validate outputs and prepare approved payment files for Finance
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian statutory requirements such as PAYE, pension, NHF, NSITF and ITF, including remittances
• Maintain payroll records and controls to support accuracy, confidentiality and audit readiness
• Prepare payroll reports, manpower cost analyses and compensation insights for management

What you need

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline
• At least 5 years' experience managing payroll in an FMCG company
• Strong grasp of payroll accounting, compensation administration and payroll reconciliation
• Hands-on experience with payroll and HRIS systems
• Sound knowledge of Nigerian labour law, personal income tax, pensions and statutory remittances
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
