Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote, Spain)

The team is fully distributed with no office. A fast-growing audio and AI company with a fully distributed, asynchronous team is hiring a software engineer for its AI team. The role focuses on building the data pipelines that feed model training and new AI products. The company works on datasets at very large scale, combining engineering, infrastructure and research to keep data quality high and costs low.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines that bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, optimizing for quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training datasets and support next-generation models.
• Own engineering projects from problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Based in Spain, as this role is hired for Spain-based candidates.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.
• Experience with web crawlers, data acquisition or distributed data-processing systems.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code, particularly GCP and Terraform.
