Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote - United Kingdom)

This role sits on the AI team of a fast-growing audio AI company whose reading tools are used by tens of millions of people. The company runs a fully distributed team with no office and works asynchronously. You will build the data pipelines that feed model training and next-generation AI products, working on datasets at very large scale with a focus on cost and quality.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines to bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, tuning for data quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training data and support new model development.
• Own engineering projects from problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and running production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Self-directed, with strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in ambiguous settings.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom.
