Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote - US only)

This is a software engineering role on the AI team of a fast-growing audio and reading-technology company whose team works fully remotely across time zones. The engineer will build the data pipelines that feed model training and new AI products. The work centers on large-scale datasets, where quality, throughput and cost all matter. Base pay is listed as a range, with bonus and equity offered on top, depending on experience.

What you'll do

• Find and evaluate new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines to bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems with an eye on quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to refine training datasets and support next-generation model development.
• Own engineering projects from initial problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience running production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.
• Must be based in the United States.
