Software Engineer - AI Data (Remote, Belgium)

A well-funded AI company that builds text-to-speech reading tools for a large global user base is hiring a software engineer to build the data pipelines behind its model training and new AI products. The team works in a fully distributed, asynchronous setting with no office. You will work at the intersection of audio, large-scale data processing and machine learning, with a focus on dataset quality and efficiency.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines that bring them into training datasets.
• Design, build and improve large-scale data-processing systems with attention to quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training data and support next-generation model development.
• Own engineering projects from problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Self-directed problem solver who can work independently in ambiguous situations.
• Must be based in Belgium.
