Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote, Portugal)

A fast-growing audio AI company with a fully distributed team of about 200 people is hiring a software engineer to build the data pipelines behind its model training and next-generation AI products. The team builds large, high-quality audio and text datasets at very large scale by combining engineering, infrastructure and research. You will work on an AI team where ownership, autonomy and asynchronous collaboration are central to how the work gets done.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines that bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, optimizing for data quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training datasets and support new model development.
• Own engineering projects from problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.
• Must be based in Portugal to apply.
