Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote, Italy)

This is a fully distributed role with a company that builds text-to-speech reading tools used by tens of millions of people worldwide. The AI team is looking for a software engineer to build the data pipelines behind model training and next-generation AI products. The work centers on finding new audio data sources, processing them at very large scale, and helping AI scientists turn them into better training datasets.

What you'll do

• Find and evaluate new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines to bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems with a focus on data quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training datasets and support new model development.
• Own engineering projects from initial problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.
• Must be based in Italy.
