Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote, Slovakia)

This is a software engineering role on the AI team of a fully distributed company that builds audio and text-to-speech products used by tens of millions of people. The team constructs the large-scale datasets used to train AI models and power new products. You will work on the data pipelines that feed model training, working with researchers and engineers across time zones. The company operates asynchronously with no office.

What you'll do

• Find and evaluate new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines to bring them into training datasets.
• Design and improve large-scale data-processing systems with a focus on data quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to refine training data and support next-generation model development.
• Own engineering projects from initial problem definition through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Self-directed, with strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in ambiguous settings.
• Must be based in Slovakia.
