Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote - US only)

This role sits on the AI team at a consumer audio and reading technology company with a fully distributed workforce of close to 200 people. The engineer will build the data pipelines that feed model training and new AI products. The work combines engineering, infrastructure and research to produce large, high-quality datasets at very large scale and low cost.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines to bring them into training datasets
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, focusing on data quality, throughput and cost
• Work closely with AI scientists to refine training datasets and support next-generation model development
• Own engineering projects from problem discovery through implementation and ongoing improvement

What you need

• Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with solid backend fundamentals
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous settings
• Must be authorized to work and based in the United States
