Software Engineer, AI Data (Remote - US only)

The team is fully distributed with no office. A fast-growing audio and AI company with a fully distributed engineering team is hiring a software engineer to build the data pipelines behind its model training and next-generation AI products. The company's consumer reading tools serve tens of millions of users, and its training datasets are built at very large scale. You will work across engineering, infrastructure and research to make AI training data higher quality, cheaper and easier to scale.

What you'll do

• Find new sources of audio data and build reliable pipelines to bring them into training datasets.
• Build and improve large-scale data-processing systems, optimizing for data quality, throughput and cost.
• Work closely with AI scientists to improve training datasets and support new model development.
• Own engineering projects from problem definition through implementation and ongoing improvement.

What you need

• A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production systems, ideally data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
• Must be located in the United States.
