Applied AI Engineer (Remote - Latin America)

A talent-as-a-service firm that places Latin American developers and designers with companies across the globe is hiring a mid-level Applied AI Engineer. The engineer would be placed remotely with a client company, where they would design and ship LLM-powered features and agents, from prototype through to production. The role is fully remote and requires strong English communication skills.

What you'll do

• Work with product teams to define technical approaches and decide how AI success will be measured
• Identify high-value places to apply AI and propose solutions for them
• Design, build and deploy LLM-based features and agents, such as automating client data onboarding
• Own retrieval and RAG over company data prepared by the data engineering team
• Build evaluations and monitoring covering quality, cost and latency, and improve systems based on results
• Help refine customer-facing AI features

What you need

• Mid-to-senior software engineer who has shipped LLM-based features or agents to production, not just prototypes
• Production experience in Python (preferred) or Node.js/TypeScript
• Hands-on work with LLMs: prompt and tool design, structured outputs, RAG and agent orchestration
• Experience evaluating AI systems using eval sets, automated graders, human review and production monitoring
• Experience with AWS or another enterprise cloud, including its AI services (AWS Bedrock preferred)
• Daily use of agentic AI coding tools, with experience rolling out shared AI workflows across a team, including CI/CD
• Must be based in Latin America and available to work remotely; strong English communication skills
