Applied AI Researcher (Remote - US only)

A small research and engineering team building AI systems for synthetic media detection, media forensics, and digital fraud prevention. The role blends rigorous applied research with hands-on implementation, aimed at practical digital trust and security problems. Visa sponsorship is available for this position.

What you'll do

• Investigate methods for deepfake detection, synthetic media analysis, and fraud prevention.
• Read and assess current research, reproduce results, and identify promising approaches to extend.
• Design experiments, set baselines, and evaluate models on realistic data.
• Implement research ideas and work with engineers to move successful methods into production.
• Analyze failure cases and improve model reliability, generalization, and computational efficiency.
• Document findings and contribute to papers and technical write-ups.

What you need

• Strong foundations in machine learning, experimental design, and model evaluation.
• Hands-on experience building, training, and evaluating models with modern ML tools.
• A track record of turning research into working, shipped software.
• Ability to critically review papers and communicate findings clearly.
• Evidence of research or engineering ability, such as publications, shipped systems, open-source work, or substantial applied projects.
• Experience in computer vision, audio, multimodal learning, media forensics, adversarial robustness, or deployment under latency constraints is a plus.
• Comfortable owning open-ended problems in a small team.
• Must be able to work remotely from within the United States.
