Associate Legal Counsel (Remote - Worldwide)

Pay: n/a. Fully remote applications are considered; a hybrid arrangement or relocation to São Paulo, Brazil is an option for those who prefer it. A global sports betting and gaming group is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel to support its Legal Team across Latin America, South Africa and other jurisdictions within the group. The work centers on betting and gaming regulation, commercial contracts and general legal affairs, working under the supervision of the Legal Counsel. The role offers broad exposure to commercial, corporate governance and regulatory matters, and may include support for regulatory and certification processes.

What you'll do

• Review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements such as vendor, service, marketing, sponsorship, affiliate, NDA and data processing agreements, flagging risks and proposing mitigations to the Legal Counsel
• Maintain the legal library and contract repository, including version control, templates, a register of contracts and key dates, and an internal knowledge base
• Support litigation and administrative proceedings by gathering evidence, tracking deadlines, coordinating with external counsel and preparing case summaries
• Conduct legal and regulatory research across contract, consumer, data protection, corporate and betting/gaming law, and draft junior-level memos
• Assist compliance teams in Brazil, Mexico and South Africa with policy drafts and regulatory checks, and handle internal legal requests from business teams
• Coordinate certification and audit documentation with testing laboratories, external bodies and regulators, and prepare status reports for leadership

What you need

• Law bachelor's degree and active bar membership
• Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish
• Strong attention to detail and organisation, with the ability to manage several certification tracks at once
• Analytical mindset and capacity to learn technical standards in software, testing and gaming
• Proactive communicator who can liaise across teams and external parties
• Interest in games, betting, sports or iGaming is a plus, as is experience with media contracts or in-house legal work
