Chief Financial and Administrative Officer

This is a senior executive role with a national nonprofit organisation that develops and advocates for laws that make record clearance more automatic. The organisation works remotely and values a collaborative, people-first culture. The successful candidate will join the leadership team to shape financial strategy, oversee budgeting and reporting, and help keep a strong team identity as the organisation grows. The role suits an experienced finance leader who understands nonprofit accounting and governance, can explain risk clearly to a board, and enjoys building culture in a distributed workplace. The position is remote, with work to be performed from Florida, United States.

What you'll do

• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide leadership with clear visibility of financial health
• Prepare financial reporting for the board and present the annual budget for approval
• Build financial systems and dashboards that give real-time insight into the organisation's finances
• Develop a roadmap to preserve a collaborative culture as the organisation grows

What you need

• Working knowledge of nonprofit financial systems and GAAP
• Ability to quantify and communicate financial, operational and reputational risk
• Experience building and scaling culture in a remote-first environment
• Nonprofit C3/C4 experience is an advantage
