Data Engineer (Remote - Latin America)

A talent staffing company that places software engineers and designers from Latin America with clients around the world is looking for a mid-level Data Engineer. You would be placed with a client and work remotely on their data platform, building pipelines that serve both the product and analytics. The role suits a self-directed engineer who communicates well in English and keeps up with new tools. The work runs about 40 hours per week.

What you'll do

• Work with product teams to define and carry out technical requirements
• Design and maintain reliable data ingestion pipelines that feed the application and analytics
• Model layered, well-structured tables that turn raw data into analytics-ready datasets
• Onboard client data from varied sources, including shared data via Databricks Delta Sharing, and integrate it with existing services
• Add data quality tests, monitoring, safe reprocessing and schema change handling, and automate pipeline operations
• Document and test the data foundation so it can support the app, analytics and future AI use cases

What you need

• Mid-to-senior data engineer who has owned production data pipelines end to end as an autonomous individual contributor
• Experience building production ingestion pipelines from APIs, files and shared-data sources using a workflow orchestrator (e.g. Airflow, Dagster or Step Functions)
• Production experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred)
• Strong SQL and production Python (or Node.js/TypeScript)
• Experience with AWS or another enterprise cloud platform
• Daily use of agentic AI coding tools and experience bringing shared AI workflows into the development lifecycle, including CI/CD
• Fluent English and strong communication skills
• Must reside in and be eligible to work remotely from Latin America
