Data Science & Analytic Methodology Subject Matter Expert

A remote contract opportunity to contribute data science and analytics expertise to an AI training project focused on advanced analytic pipelines and large language models. The work supports building AI systems that reason well about real-world analysis, so no prior AI experience is needed; practical domain knowledge is the key asset. It suits experienced data scientists, analysts and methodologists who enjoy writing clear cases, evaluating outputs and sharing feedback, and who can work comfortably in a distributed international team.

What you'll do

• Map scaled-analysis and pipeline-integration scenarios to an established evaluation taxonomy
• Write detailed analytic cases reflecting real deployment patterns such as automated triage, enrichment and analysis at scale
• Evaluate and grade model responses on source handling, reasoning, awareness of limitations and practical usefulness
• Flag cases of unnecessary model refusal that could disrupt legitimate analytic workflows
• Document edge cases and methodology concerns with practical recommendations for improvement
• Give clear written and verbal feedback to support iterative project outcomes

What you need

• Experience integrating LLMs or other tools into complex data or analytic pipelines is preferred
• Proven ability to carry out analysis at scale and understand automation failure modes
• Track record of teaching, mentoring or technical leadership in data science or analytics
• Strong written English and skill in concise technical documentation
• Exposure to evaluation frameworks or benchmark design is an advantage
• Familiarity with defence, intelligence or government analytic domains is highly valued
