Digital Analytics Engineer

This remote role is for a digital analytics engineer who will take ownership of how product and marketing event data is captured, organised and governed. The team works within a fintech-focused organisation that relies on clean data to guide decisions across marketing, product and engineering. The role suits someone early in their analytics engineering career who enjoys bringing order to messy tracking, cares deeply about data quality, and enjoys working with colleagues across several teams to get instrumentation right. What you'll do

• Audit existing event tracking, consolidate duplicates and establish a consistent event naming convention
• Build and maintain a tracking plan, deprecating events as the product evolves
• Configure and manage schema validation and violation handling for tracking data
• Advise on whether events should be captured client-side, server-side or both
• Work with marketing, product and engineering to define what gets tracked and translate requirements into event specifications
• Document tracking standards and run a review process for proposing, approving and deprecating events

What you need

• 2+ years of experience in a data analyst, analytics or similar role
• Experience with Segment or a similar customer data platform; knowledge of Amplitude, Mixpanel, PostHog or GA4 is a plus
• Solid understanding of event taxonomy and tracking-plan concepts
• SQL proficiency and experience querying a cloud data warehouse
• Working knowledge of JSON Schema and JavaScript
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices
