Frontend Desktop Engineer

This is a remote, worldwide engineering role at a company building peer-to-peer software that runs directly between devices, without traditional server infrastructure. The work centres on a cross-platform desktop communications application built with React. It suits frontend engineers who enjoy polished interfaces, performance work and the challenge of decentralised systems, and who are comfortable collaborating with a globally distributed team.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain a cross-platform desktop communications application built with React
• Implement user interfaces and user experience features
• Optimise frontend performance, including rendering and resource use
• Write modular, well tested code and debug complex frontend issues
• Help shape the future of decentralised communication features

What you need

• Proven experience with React or Preact and modern JavaScript or TypeScript in production applications
• Strong state management skills (Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand or similar)
• Ability to write modular, maintainable and well tested code
• Solid testing and debugging skills for complex frontend applications
• Deep interest in or experience with P2P technologies or distributed systems
• Comfortable working remotely in a globally distributed team with good communication skills
