Full-Stack Engineer (Backend Leaning), AI Creative Agents

A remote, worldwide role with a well-funded AI research and product company building creative agents that help people make audio, image and video without needing to be prompting experts. The agent is already live, and the team is small, so you would help shape its capabilities and architecture. This suits a backend-minded engineer who enjoys owning features from server systems through to the user-facing experience and who is keen on creative tools and fast-moving product work.

What you'll do

• Build and extend production creative agents using prompts, tool use, orchestration, new models and MCP integrations
• Design and run reliable backend systems for asynchronous creative generation and long-running tasks
• Develop shared evaluations and live quality monitoring, including model-based assessment of image and video outputs
• Own features end to end, from identifying user needs and prototyping through to shipping and production support
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering colleagues and use customer feedback to shape priorities

What you need

• Strong backend engineering skills and experience operating production systems
• Sound fundamentals in APIs, cloud infrastructure, storage and asynchronous processing
• Hands-on experience developing agents, including prompts, tools, execution logic and evaluations
• Evidence of independent end-to-end ownership, including frontend work when needed
• Good product judgement, clear communication and enthusiasm for creative agents
• Familiarity with HTTP, WebSockets and asynchronous workers is helpful
