Head of Talent

This fully remote, senior individual-contributor role is for an experienced recruiter who can shape how a growing organisation hires while also running searches hands-on. The company is a technology business with a social and community focus, building a small and highly capable team. The successful person will set hiring strategy, partner closely with leaders on org design and headcount, and personally source and close hard-to-fill technical and senior candidates. It suits a seasoned talent professional who enjoys building systems from scratch, giving clear advice to senior stakeholders, and combining strategic thinking with practical execution.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end hiring strategy in partnership with leaders, including org design, headcount planning and role scoping
• Run full-cycle recruiting personally, from proactive outbound sourcing through to offer close, especially for strategic and hard-to-fill technical roles
• Build and maintain pipelines for niche technical and senior roles, including passive candidates
• Refine recruiting systems, applicant tracking workflows and candidate experience
• Design competency-based interview processes and evidence-based debriefs
• Work with People and hiring managers on onboarding handoffs and use ramp feedback to improve hiring

What you need

• 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including building a recruiting function from scratch
• Strong technical sourcing background, especially for engineering and hard-to-fill technical roles
• Experience building recruiting systems and effective onboarding handoffs
• Track record of measurable improvements such as time-to-hire and offer acceptance rate
• Able to advise senior leadership thoughtfully on org design and headcount
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
