Human Resource Generalist

A remote generalist role supporting the people side of a team based in Nigeria. The position covers the full range of HR work, from recruitment and onboarding through to employee relations, HR administration and performance coordination. It suits an experienced HR professional who is organised, discreet and comfortable managing HR processes entirely online, and who has a working knowledge of Nigerian labour law.

What you'll do

• Manage the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing and screening to interviewing and offers
• Run virtual onboarding and orientation for new hires and maintain a talent pipeline
• Act as first point of contact for employee queries and grievances, and support disciplinary and exit processes
• Drive engagement initiatives for a remote team
• Maintain HR records and HRIS data, manage leave and attendance, and support monthly payroll preparation
• Prepare HR reports on turnover, retention and headcount, and coordinate the performance appraisal process

What you need

• B.Sc. or HND in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
• 3 to 6 years' experience as an HR Generalist or HR Officer
• Professional certification such as CIPM, HRCI or SHRM is an advantage
• Solid knowledge of Nigerian labour law
• Excellent communication, confidentiality and organisational skills
• Experience with training needs analysis and learning management systems is useful
