IT Systems Administrator (Remote)

This is a remote IT role at a high-growth, venture-backed healthcare workforce technology company that runs an on-demand marketplace and scheduling tools for healthcare professionals. The IT team is small and remote-first, supporting a distributed workforce on a modern SaaS stack. Most of the work is building and securing systems rather than routine support, with a security-first mindset throughout.

What you'll do

• Own identity and access management: single sign-on, automated user provisioning, group rules, authentication policies, and role-based access by department.
• Build and maintain workflows and integrations between HR, identity, ticketing, and collaboration tools, including employee onboarding and offboarding with audit trails.
• Manage device management and device trust for macOS and Windows, including enrollment, compliance baselines, patching, and disk encryption.
• Administer video conferencing and phone systems, SaaS governance (license reclamation and shadow IT review), and password manager policies.
• Provide frontline IT support, handle identity verification for resets, and maintain the internal knowledge base and runbooks.
• Support access reviews and security evidence for SOC 2 and security audits.

What you need

• 4+ years in IT operations, systems administration, or IT engineering, ideally in a SaaS-first, remote company.
• Hands-on administration of a major identity platform, including SSO (SAML/OIDC), SCIM provisioning, and MFA policies.
• Hands-on MDM experience for both macOS and Windows, with comfort troubleshooting and hardening Windows as well as Mac.
• Solid Microsoft 365 / Office 365 administration, including licensing and app deployment.
• Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and workflow automation tools, and writing reliable integrations with error handling and logging.
• Strong documentation habits and a least-privilege, security-first approach.
