Lead Solutions Architect, Generative AI (Remote - UK)
The posting lists Sweden as the location and mentions a remote/hybrid arrangement, so confirm the exact work setup with the employer. Travel to customer sites across Europe is required. A large data and AI software company is hiring a senior, hands-on solutions architect to lead Generative AI work for its startup and digital-native customer segment in EMEA. You will act as the technical authority the account teams turn to when a GenAI or LLM idea needs to become a production system. This is an individual contributor role with a strong customer-facing and mentoring component.
What you'll do
- Serve as the deep technical lead on LLM and applied machine learning for high-growth, cloud-native accounts in the region.
- Work with solutions architects, solutions engineers and account teams to scope and de-risk use cases such as retrieval-augmented generation, agent systems, fine-tuning and evaluation.
- Build proofs of concept and reference implementations for large-scale LLM and deep learning workloads, covering model serving, vector search and data governance.
- Lead fine-tuning and model customisation projects on open-weight LLMs, including automated and label-efficient evaluation for quality- and safety-critical domains.
- Feed customer and field feedback into product and engineering planning and explain roadmap direction back to the field.
- Mentor and run enablement for the wider field engineering team through workshops and reference architectures, and represent the company externally through talks and briefings.
What you need
- Strong understanding of the LLM landscape across proprietary and open-source providers, with a clear view of their trade-offs for different use cases.
- Deep practical experience with the GenAI stack: RAG, agents and tool use, fine-tuning, prompt and evaluation engineering, and guardrails.
- Solid grounding in machine learning and deep learning, including distributed training, GPU workloads and the MLOps lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Python and the ML ecosystem (PyTorch, Transformers, Spark), with experience building production-quality code.
- Experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP) and the ability to ramp quickly on a unified data and AI platform.
- Based in the United Kingdom, with willingness to travel to customer sites within Europe.
