Lead Solutions Architect, Generative AI (Remote, United Kingdom)
The posting lists a Germany location with a remote/hybrid option, but the eligibility requirement is UK residency. A fast-growing data and AI software company is hiring a technical customer-facing architect to lead generative AI work with digital-native and cloud-native startups across Europe. You will be the deep technical reference for LLM and GenAI use cases, moving them from early ideas to production systems. This is an individual contributor role that combines hands-on building, customer advisory work, and internal enablement for a large field engineering team.
What you'll do
- Act as the go-to expert for GenAI and LLM use cases raised by account teams and high-growth customers, covering retrieval-augmented generation, agentic systems, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
- Scope and de-risk customer solutions, shaping architectures and challenging roadmaps where needed.
- Build proofs of concept and reference implementations for large-scale LLM and deep learning workloads on a unified data and AI platform.
- Lead fine-tuning and model customisation engagements on open-source LLMs, including automated and label-efficient evaluation for quality- and safety-sensitive domains.
- Feed customer and field feedback into product and engineering planning, and communicate roadmap direction back to the field.
- Mentor and run workshops, reference architectures, and enablement sessions for the wider presales and engineering team; represent the company as a technical speaker through talks, blogs, and executive briefings.
What you need
- Strong understanding of the LLM landscape across proprietary and open-source providers, with a clear point of view on trade-offs and fit for different use cases.
- Deep practical experience with the GenAI stack: RAG, agents and tool use, fine-tuning, prompt and evaluation engineering, and guardrails.
- Solid foundations in machine learning and deep learning, including distributed training, GPU workloads, and MLOps (tracking, registry, serving, monitoring).
- Proficiency in Python and the ML ecosystem (PyTorch, Transformers, MLflow, Spark), with experience building production-quality code.
- Experience with a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and with a data and ML platform, or the ability to ramp up quickly.
- Based in the UK, with excellent communication skills and a track record of technical leadership and mentoring.
