Legal & Compliance Manager (Web3/Fintech)

A senior legal and compliance role for a fast-growing Web3 and fintech business operating across several regions. The position sits at the centre of the company's regulatory strategy, ensuring digital products and cross-border activity stay compliant while supporting ambitious growth. It suits an experienced lawyer who understands blockchain and decentralised finance, enjoys working in a high-performance, fast-moving setting, and can turn complex legal requirements into practical advice for non-legal colleagues. The role is based onsite in Lekki, Lagos, in a hybrid arrangement.

What you'll do

• Research and interpret evolving fintech and Web3 regulations across several African, European and American markets
• Lead applications for financial licences and permits in target jurisdictions
• Design, implement and manage AML, KYC and CFT policies and internal audit procedures
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial, partnership and vendor agreements
• Act as the main point of contact for regulators, financial intelligence units and external counsel
• Identify legal risks in product roadmaps and advise the executive team on practical solutions

What you need

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB); a professional certification such as CAMS is preferred
• About 10 years' experience in legal or compliance, including 3 to 5 years in fintech, crypto or Web3
• Deep understanding of blockchain, smart contracts and decentralised finance
• Demonstrated experience managing compliance in at least two core regions (Africa, EU or Americas)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain legal matters clearly to business teams
• Strategic, ownership-driven approach in a high-performance environment
