Legal & Compliance Officer

A legal and compliance role supporting the legal function of a business based in Lekki and Ikoyi, Lagos. The post suits an experienced Nigerian-called lawyer who enjoys contract work, regulatory oversight and practical legal advice. The role is onsite, with regular weekday office hours, and offers the chance to shape internal policies and work closely with a Head of Legal across the organisation.

What you'll do

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents
• Support property transactions and title documentation, including due diligence
• Monitor regulatory developments and help ensure compliance with relevant laws and industry regulations
• Develop, implement and monitor internal compliance policies and procedures
• Coordinate with external counsel on litigation and other legal matters
• Maintain accurate legal records, registers and documentation

What you need

• LL.B and B.L., and called to the Nigerian Bar
• Minimum of 4 years post-call experience
• Strong drafting, research and negotiation skills
• Good knowledge of contract law and regulatory compliance
• Excellent attention to detail, communication and time management
• Real estate experience is an added advantage
