Senior Backend Engineer (Mobility, Remote)

A remote role for a senior backend engineer on a growing e-mobility team building clean, affordable transport solutions across Africa. The work centres on event-driven microservices, with the team owning systems end-to-end from design through production monitoring. It suits an experienced .NET engineer who enjoys collaborative, DevOps-minded delivery and treats testing and observability as core parts of the job. The initial contract is for 12 months, with potential to extend or move to a permanent position.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain event-driven microservices for an e-mobility platform
• Own solutions end-to-end, from architecture decisions to production monitoring
• Write automated tests across all environments, including production
• Apply infrastructure as code and DevOps practices
• Support continuous delivery and observability of services
• Collaborate with a team and contribute to peers' growth through coaching

What you need

• Strong grasp of C# and .NET development
• Experience with event-driven systems such as Azure Service Bus, Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Microservices architecture experience
• Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, plus a DevOps mindset
